two of them went to lessons too

Standard

What are we learning in first grade you may wonder?  All of the fun things you still remember today.  We have been talking about abbreviations, and how you use capital letters and periods to write them.  With abbreviations you can shorten words up, like months of the year.  When I asked the kids for examples Tim offered Mr./Mrs. and 1st, Lucas remembered that Charlie was often called C.J.

We have since moved on to homonyms, do you remember what those are?  Check out the title of this blog post for a clue.  Although it was hard to come up for examples at first, they then came flooding out.

Izzy came up with two/too/to, and pea/pee/P

Maya volunteered tee/tea/T

Tim was excited about ewe/you/U

and Holden offered four/for.
